GUIDELINES FOR THE MISS POETONIC - RECITE YOUR POEM PAGEANT

 1) Contestant must be a female of secondary school age and status(14-16 yrs old).

 2) Contestant must produce her original work.

 3) Contestant is to submit a 6 stanza poem, in rhyming quatrain verse at the first stage. Rhymes will be given by the organizers.

 4) Poems are to be written in the AAAA, AABB or ABAB Rhyme scheme.

5) Contestant is to compose and memorise her poem for recitation at the main event.

 6) Contestant will be tested on creative writing at the preliminary stage.

 7) 2 contestants will emerge from each school into the final round.

 8) Contestants from 12 schools will compete in this contest.

9) Contestant must submit her poem for review within the time stipulated by the organizers.
